Confidence is something I never had before becoming a part of MFHF. I was actually made to look into a mirror and tell who I saw in the mirror. The person I saw then, is not the person I am today. MFHF made me believe I can do anything I want to do if I stick to it long enough. I can now help others that are in the situation I was in, through public speaking and sharing what I learned with MFHF. MFHF is my extended family. I now live in a different city, but I am in contact with MFHF staff. I would like to encourage youth in the Birmingham area to become a part of this great organization, I am proof, there is life after emancipation. I never would have made it without MFHF!

I don’t know where I would be if it was not for My Father’s House Foundation S.T.A.R.S. Program. My life was a disaster before I became a part of MFHF; I am beginning to live a life of hope. I am a STAR in the polishing stage, I’ve only been in the program a year. I still have a long way to go, but I can move forward now because I know that MFHF has my back. I was in a tunnel of darkness, now I can see a light for a promising future. I am moving ahead with a positive atittude, something I didn’t have in the past, I love MFHF!

They helped me to resolve conflict situations I was facing and in return, I was able to help others resolve conflicts. I was able to stay positive in spite of the obstacles I was facing; unemployment, no financial assistance, and homelessness. MFHF helped me to believe in myself and helped me to realize thatmy beginning does not determine my end. I AM A SHINING STAR!
